Northrop Grumman Corp. (NYSE: NOC) said it has been awarded USD81m by the US Air Force for the engineering and manufacturing development phase of the Air Operations Center Weapon System modernization program.
This award is options exercised on the contract first announced in March 2012.
Northrop Grumman is applying an open systems approach and integrating cybersecurity to modernize the Air Force´s essential operational-level command and control (C2) centers. The effort will deliver greater C2 affordability over the life cycle and enable more effective, dynamic planning and execution.
