Neustar, Inc. (NYSE: NSR) has been chosen by Canadian Local Number Portability Consortium Inc. (CLNPC) to serve as its Local Number Portability Administrator (LNPA) for the next decade, the company said.
Under the agreement, Neustar will continue to provide Number Portability Administration Center (NPAC) services to the Canadian telecommunications industry through December 31, 2028.
The Canadian NPAC is a critical part of Canada´s telecommunications infrastructure, connecting every single service provider in the country, enabling consumer choice and competition, and providing accurate routing information for millions of calls and texts daily. The NPAC is a real-time information service, requiring strong neutrality qualifications and compliance with extensive security operations, particularly vital as the telecommunications industry is experiencing significant technology changes.
