UK air traffic solutions company NATS on Monday said that it has appointed Gavin Walker to the new role of chief information officer.
Walker has worked for NATS for the last 25 years, most recently as the head of information solutions. As the head of information solutions Walker led a team of 35 and was accountable for NATS Information Management and the delivery of business IT services to 6,000 NATS staff across 20 UK locations and three European locations.
Effective from 23 April 2012, in his new role Walker will report directly to managing director Martin Rolfe.
NATS is a UK provider of Air Traffic Management services and it handled 2.1 million flights in 2011. NATS covers the UK and eastern North Atlantic from centres at Swanwick, Hampshire and Prestwick, Ayrshire. In addition NATS provides air traffic control services at 15 UK airports including Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow as well as Gibralter Airport.
