NASA welcomes US Vice President Pence to Ames Research Center to discuss lunar exploration

NASA has announced US Vice President Mike Pence visited the Ames Research Center November 14 to discuss the role the center will play in the agency´s plans to return astronauts to the Moon, the agency said.

The event took place in the NASA Vertical Motion Simulator, a facility that will be integral in developing a lander needed for the Artemis program, which will land the first woman and next man on the Moon by 2024.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration is an independent agency of the United States Federal Government responsible for the civilian space program, as well as aeronautics and aerospace research. NASA was established in 1958, succeeding the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics.
