NASA awards construction contract to Walsh Construction for new research building

NASA has announced it has selected Chicago-based Walsh Construction Company II, LLC to build a new Research Support Building (RSB) at the agency´s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, the agency said.

This firm-fixed-price contract includes a base period that began August 10, followed by seven options that would extend the period of performance to June 9, 2020. The total potential value of this contract is approximately USD 32.7 million.

The two-story, 64,000-square-feet RSB will house approximately 164 employees and include open office areas, private offices, conference rooms, collaborative engineering rooms, and a cafeteria with supporting kitchen and dining spaces.
