Miracle Flights said it rounded off a successful Giving Tuesday campaign by raising close to USD8,000.
The campaign, titled Flight. Thrive. Five, matched every dollar donated up to USD5,000 for sick children in need of specialized medical care.
Based in Las Vegas, the nonprofit has provided financial assistance for medical flights so that seriously ill children may receive life-altering, life-saving medical care and second opinions from experts and specialists throughout the US for three decades.
Giving Tuesday was created as a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tues., Dec. 1, charities, families, businesses, community centers and students around the world were encouraged to come together to celebrate generosity and to give.
Miracle Flights is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides free medical air transportation via commercial airlines throughout the United States. Now in its 30th year of operation, Miracle Flights has coordinated more than 97,000 flights and counting.
