Miracle Flights, the nation´s medical flight charity, has announced a record number of flights coordinated during the month of July, with 760 flights provided last month to children and adults in need of specialized, distant medical care, the company said.
This marks a substantial increase of 26 percent from last July´s total of 603 flights performed.
Now in its 32nd year, the Las Vegas–based nonprofit organization fills a critical gap by connecting patients who suffer from rare and life-threatening conditions to the medical experts who can best treat them. Commercial flights are arranged at no cost to families and provided as many times as necessary.
Operating both domestically and internationally, Miracle Flights has to date performed a total of 110,844 free medical flights and flown more than 62 million miles. In July alone, Miracle Flights fulfilled requests from 30 states and seven countries, including Germany, Brazil and Israel.
Miracle Flights is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides free medical air transportation to children and adults via commercial airlines throughout the United States. With over three decades of service to families in need, Miracle Flights has coordinated more than 110,000 flights and counting.
