Marriott renovates Bush Intercontinental hotel

Houston Airport Marriott unveiled a multi-million dollar makeover Jan. 12, 2016 of the 573-room hotel located in the heart of George Bush Intercontinental Airport, the company said.

The property-wide transformation of the hotel — which opened at Bush Intercontinental in 1971 — extends from the exterior to guestrooms, suites, meeting rooms, lobby, restaurants, public areas and fitness center.

All areas have been reimagined with a modern style and design that focuses on improving the overall guest experience, delivering on the flagship brand´s promise of Traveling Brilliantly.

With five runways, five terminals and nearly 200 destinations worldwide, George Bush Intercontinental Airport served more than 40 million passengers last year, including more than 10 million international passengers, and is the 11th busiest for total passengers in North America and the largest passenger-carrying hub for United Airlines.
