Malawi Airlines suspends flights to South Africa due to Coronavirus

Malawi´s local flag carrier Malawi Airlines has announced a temporary cancellation of all flights between Malawi and South Africa, effective Friday 27th March, 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic threat, the company said.

The airline has indicated that the suspension runs to Thursday 16 April, 2020. This will affect flights for Lilongwe and Blantyre to Johannesburg.

The announcement follows Government of the Republic South Africa announcement of national lockdown from midnight on Thursday 26th March, 2020 until midnight on Thursday 16th April, 2020.
