Lufthansa Group to hire 3000 new staff this year

Deutsche Lufthansa AG will once again hire more than 3,000 new staff this year, the airline said.

The Germany-based airline will hire 1,400 flight attendants at the hubs in Frankfurt and Munich. Overall, the group will hire more than 2,200 new staff.

Last year, in addition to the conventional application processes, Lufthansa also held six flight attendant castings in Heidelberg, Mainz, Augsburg, Regensburg, Munich and Berlin. More than 2000 applicants went to the castings, and almost one in every three was accepted.

Other divisions are also hiring, including Lufthansa Technik and Austrian Airlines. With 37,000 employees, Lufthansa is the largest employer in Frankfurt and Hesse.

Deutsche Lufthansa Aktiengesellschaft operates as an aviation company in Germany and internationally through a route network of 271 destinations in 107 countries. As of December 31, 2015, it had a fleet of 600 aircraft. It is headquartered in Cologne, Germany.
