LG U+, ARRIS expand gigabit services across South Korea

South Korean operator LG U+ is expanding its deployment of the E6000® Converged Edge Router (CER) from ARRIS International, plc (NASDAQ: ARRS) to deliver gigabit speed broadband services across its entire nationwide footprint, the company said.

The rollout extends ARRIS´s and LG U+´s partnership to deliver advanced broadband and video services in South Korea, following an initial deployment of E6000 CERs in major cosmopolitan areas last year. The ARRIS E6000 CER enables LG U+ to build upon its existing cable infrastructure using hybrid fiber coaxial (HFC) technology to achieve significant cost savings and accelerate next-generation service delivery.

LG U+ and other leading service providers around the world have chosen the market-leading ARRIS E6000 CER to power their gigabit deployments today, while preparing for tomorrow´s services through its software-upgradable DOCSIS® 3.1-ready architecture.
