L-3 gets USD21m TSA order for checkpoint security scanners

L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) has received an order worth more than USD21 million from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for its ProVision 2 next-generation security scanners for primary passenger screening at airports across the United States, the company said.

Deployed at approximately 200 US airports, the ProVision platform provides advanced personnel screening.

This order brings the US aviation installed base to approximately 1,000 systems, with nearly 2,000 ProVision systems used at airports and other security screening checkpoints worldwide.

Work on this contract will be done by L-3´s Security & Detection Systems division, which is part of the Aviation Products & Security sector within the Electronic Systems business segment.
