Kaman Corporation´s (NYSE:KAMN) Aerosystems division will continue production of the commercial K-MAXÂ® heavy-lift utility helicopter, the company said.
The company resumed K-MAXÂ® production in 2015 after a more than decade long hiatus with an initial commitment to build at least ten new aircraft.
K-MAXÂ® aircraft are manufactured in the company´s North American facilities in Jacksonville, Florida and Bloomfield, Connecticut. Orders for new K-MAXÂ® aircraft have thus far come from China, Europe and North America.
K-MAXÂ® aircraft are used around the world for firefighting, logging, powerline construction and other missions requiring repetitive aerial lift capabilities. The US Marine Corps maintains two unmanned K-MAXÂ® aircraft developed with Lockheed Martin.
Kaman Aerospace Group is a segment of Kaman, which was founded in 1945 and headquartered in Bloomfield, Connecticut. It conducts business in the aerospace and distribution markets.
