Jive Software total revenue up 8% YoY

Jive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: JIVE) total revenue for the first quarter was USD50.7 million, an increase of eight percent on a year-over-year basis.

Within total revenue, product revenue was USD46.6 million for the first quarter, an increase of seven percent on a year-over-year basis. Professional services revenue for the first quarter was USD4.1 million, an increase of 14 percent on a year-over-year basis.

Short-term billings, which Jive defines as revenue plus the change in short-term deferred revenue, were USD42.6 million for the first quarter, a decrease of 2 percent year-over-year. Total billings, which Jive defines as revenue plus the change in short and long-term deferred revenue, was USD40.4 million, an increase of 4 percent on a year-over-year basis.

GAAP gross profit for the first quarter was USD32.2 million, compared to USD29.9 million for the first quarter of 2015. Non-GAAP gross profit was USD33.7 million for the first quarter, an increase of six percent year-over-year, and non-GAAP gross margin was 67 percent.

GAAP loss from operations for the first quarter was USD6.9 million, compared to a loss from operations of USD9.4 million for the first quarter of 2015. Non-GAAP loss from operations was USD2.3 million, compared to non-GAAP loss from operations of USD2.2 million for the first quarter of 2015.

GAAP net loss for the first quarter was USD7.4 million, compared to a net loss of USD8.2 million for the same period last year. GAAP net loss per share for the first quarter was USD0.10, based on 76.5 million weighted-average shares outstanding, compared to a net loss per share of USD0.11, based on 74.1 million weighted-average shares outstanding, for the same period last year.

Non-GAAP net loss for the first quarter was USD2.7 million, compared to a non-GAAP net loss of USD2.0 million for the same period last year. Non-GAAP net loss per share for the first quarter was USD0.04, based on 76.5 million weighted-average shares outstanding, compared to a non-GAAP net loss per share of USD0.03, based on 74.1 million weighted-average shares outstanding, for the same period last year.
