JetBlue (NASDAQ:JBLU) has earned a top spot among Forbes´ “America´s Best Employers of 2017”, landing at No. 12 of 500 companies nationally and for the third year, was named the best company to work for (No. 1) in the category of transportation and logistics, the airline said.
The annual Forbes ranking honors employers based on an independent survey asking how likely employees would be to recommend their employer–and other employers in their respective industries–to someone else.
The airline says that its popularity as a workplace comes from its commitment to maintaining a values-driven culture and keeping a close eye on engagement, with plenty of opportunities for crewmembers to be part of the company´s mission of inspiring humanity.
The employers on the Forbes list were chosen based on an independent survey by Statista.com of 30,000 American employees working for large or midsize U.S. companies and institutions. They were asked anonymously through several online panels if they´d recommend their employer, or any other employers in their industry, to a potential employee.
JetBlue carries more than 38 million customers a year to 101 cities in the U.S., Caribbean, and Latin America with an average of 1,000 daily flights.
