JetBlue (NASDAQ: JBLU) has announced new and improved flight schedules for service between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Mexico City International Airport (MEX), and between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and MEX, the airline said.
Additionally, JetBlue will increase service to four daily roundtrips between Mexico City and the U.S. — two on the Fort Lauderdale route and two on the Orlando route.
Earlier this year, JetBlue was awarded new flight times and the authority to operate additional service by the US Department of Transportation when the agency required other airlines to divest slots at MEX in order to enhance competition in Mexico City.
JetBlue´s growth in the broader Latin America and Caribbean network continues to make up nearly a third of the airline´s flying capacity. JetBlue will operate up to 315 daily flights in the region this year.
JetBlue carries more than 38 million customers a year to 101 cities in the US, Caribbean, and Latin America with an average of 1000 daily flights.
