JetBlue adds 30 A321s to order backlog

JetBlue Airways Corporation (NASDAQ: JBLU) has added orders for 30 Airbus A321s, raising the US low-cost carrier´s total backlog to 116 single-aisles, the company said.

The amended purchase agreement includes orders for 15 A321s and 15 re-engined A321neos. JetBlue´s 130 A320s and 30 A321s are all powered by International Aero Engines V2500s, a brand owned by Pratt & Whitney, which will supply PW1100G geared turbofans for JetBlue´s previously ordered A321neos.

JetBlue is an American low-cost airline headquartered in the Long Island City neighborhood of the New York City with its main base at John F. Kennedy International Airport. As of March 2016, the airline serves 97 destinations in the US, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America and South America.
