Miami International Airport (MIA) has advanced from 18th place in 2015 to fifth place in 2016 among large airports in the JD Power 2016 North America Airport Satisfaction Study, the company said.
This year´s results were based on responses from nearly 39,000 travelers who traveled through at least one domestic or international airport with both departure and arrival experiences (excluding connecting airports) during the past three months. Travelers rated airports in six areas: terminal facilities, accessibility, security check, baggage claim, check-in/baggage check and food, beverage and retail.
J.D. Power noted MIA´s growing variety of localized food options available in MIA´s new North Terminal Marketplace, offering a collection of 10 new restaurants and shops.
MIA installed 500 Bluetooth data beacons throughout the airport and added a Wall of Honor memorial listing the names of 118 military service men and women in South Florida who have died while serving the country since September 11, 2001.
