Ivar's Fish Bar at SeaTac wins airport restaurant awards

Ivar´s Fish Bar at SeaTac airport has been named a Top 10 Best Airport Grab-And-Go Dining option by USA Today´s 10Best list, was ranked by the Huffington Post among 14 Restaurants That are Worth a Layover, and recently won SeaTac´s Green Gateway Environmental Excellence Award, the restaurant said.

The USA Today award highlights readers´ favorite airport dining options throughout the country for their downright delicious fare. Together with Airport Revenue News and industry experts, USA Today nominated 15 finalists that were then voted on by readers. Ivar´s was chosen among other eateries spanning airports in Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas and more. Similarly, the Huffington Post consulted roundups, travel guides and passenger reviews to generate a list of top-ranked restaurants at some of the busiest airports across the US.

The travel-friendly fish bar also won SeaTac´s Green Gateway Environmental Excellence Award for its continued support of environmental objectives. The Port of Seattle will recognize Ivar´s among other airport concessionaires at its commission meeting on April 25.

With these latest recognitions, Ivar´s SeaTac staple has now been honored 17 times, between national airport dining ranking lists and various awards. Past honors have included a spot on Frommer´s 10 Best US Airport Restaurants (2011), the Top 10 Airport Restaurants list by The Points Guy (2012), and a featured favorite spot on Anthony Bourdain´s The Layover show on the Travel Channel (2013).

Ivar´s Restaurants opened on Seattle´s waterfront in 1938. Today, there are 23 Ivar´s fast casual Seafood Bars and three full-service restaurants: Ivar´s Acres of Clams, Ivar´s Salmon House and Ivar´s Mukilteo Landing. Ivar´s Seafood, Soup and Sauce Company markets and sells its award-winning soups, chowders and sauces nationally and internationally. The company also operates regional stadium concessions.
