ITRI picks CEVA-XC DSP for 4G small cell base stations

Signal processing licensor CEVA, Inc. (NASDAQ: CEVA) said that Taiwanese research and development organization ITRI has selected the CEVA-XC DSP for the development of its new 4G small cell base station platform.

ITRI small cell projects are funded from the Department of Industrial Technology (DoIT) of the Ministry of Economy Affairs (MOEA), Taiwan.

The MOEA spares no effort to construct the small cell key components and improve the international competitiveness of related Taiwanese network communication supply chain. ITRI will deploy the CEVA-XC to enable a Software-Defined Radio (SDR) baseband architecture for its small cell platform which provides a 3GPP release 10 compliant LTE Access Point (AP) solution integrating the core functions of baseband signal processing, RF front-end circuit and software protocols.

The CEVA-XC is already widely deployed in communications infrastructure applications, with multiple designs for macro cells and small cells.

Founded in 1973, ITRI has helped transform Taiwan´s industries from labor-intensive into technology-oriented. It focuses on the fields of Smart Living, Quality Health, and Sustainable Environment. In addition to its headquarters in Taiwan, ITRI has branch offices in Silicon Valley, Tokyo, Berlin, Moscow and Eindhoven in an effort to extend its R&D scope and promote opportunities for international cooperation around the world.

CEVA licenses signal processing IP for a smarter, connected world.
