iPass, United Airlines partner to bring inflight Wi-Fi connectivity to customers

iPass Inc. (NASDAQ: IPAS) has entered into an agreement with United Airlines to provide iPass customers with Wi-Fi access to the United Airlines Wi-Fi inflight network, the company said.

United Airlines passengers who are iPass customers will benefit from a secure, frictionless Wi-Fi experience as they move from the airport terminal to United Airlines aircraft and beyond, utilizing a single service. The rollout is scheduled to commence during the fourth quarter of 2016 and, once complete, will provide eligible customers Wi-Fi access across United´s entire Wi-Fi enabled fleet of more than 700 aircraft.

iPass is a provider of global mobile connectivity, offering simple, secure, always-on Wi-Fi access on any mobile device. iPass has more than 57 million hotspots in more than 120 countries.

United Airlines and United Express operate more than 4,500 flights a day to 339 airports across five continents. In 2015, United and United Express operated more than 1.5 million flights carrying more than 140 million customers.
