Intelligent Waves LLC, a provider of IT solutions and professional services to government organizations, has announced the promotion of James Howell to chief operating officer (COO) effective immediately, the company said.
In this new role, Howell will assume responsibility for day-to-day business operations, executing long-term strategies for growth and ensuring operational excellence across all functional areas of business. He will resume oversite of customer-facing operations including professional and engineering services as well as the lead enterprise risk management and the company´s project management office (PMO). He will continue to report to Intelligent Waves´ president and chief executive officer Jared Shepard.
Howell joined Intelligent Waves in 2010 and has held leadership roles as vice president, professional services and chief information officer (CIO). He previously directed contract execution for all CONUS and OCONUS information technology services to the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of State (DoS), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) for the company.
Prior to joining Intelligent Waves, James spent 23 years in the US Army as an Air Defense Artillery and Signal Officer. His assignments included tours with NATO, Multi-National Forces-IRAQ, 3rd Mobile Armored Corps, 3rd Signal Brigade, and the 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade. Howell holds a bachelor´s degree from Eastern New Mexico University.
