Icelandair introduces concierge service through Celebration Stopover program

Icelandair has introduced Celebration Stopover Buddy Service, which matches members of Icelandair´s airline team with passengers to provide personalized concierge service, the company said.

The company said members of its team serve as buddies who are local experts who know the lay of the land and have connections to other locals to help save passengers time and money.

On a transatlantic stopover, all passengers can request a free Buddy and are matched according to their celebration request, however big or small. Buddies will be on hand to act as a host in Iceland and offer their personalized local expertise.

The company said it offers Stopover Buddy service in response to global research highlighting people want to experience local culture and unique adventures over anything else while on holiday.

Icelandair is the main airline of Iceland, headquartered at Reykjavík Airport in Reykjavík. It is part of the Icelandair Group and, during the summer of 2015, operated scheduled services to 39 cities in 16 countries on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean out of its hub at Keflavík International Airport.
