Hawaiian Airlines reports 3% increase in traffic in May 2016

Hawaiian Airlines, Inc., a subsidiary of Hawaiian Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: HA), has reported a three percent increase in traffic in May 2016, compared to May 2015,the company said.

Passenger traffic in May 2016 was 1,268,341 compared to 1,208,610 in May 2015. Year to date, the company has reported 4,433,277 passengers transported in 2016 compared to 4,231,065 in the same period in 2015, an increase of 4.8 percent.

Available seat miles in May 2016 were 1,505,283, compared to 1,500,463 during May 2015, an increase of 0.3 percent. The load factor in May 2016 was 84.3 percent compared to 80.5 percent during May 2015.

Available seat miles year to date as of May 2016 were 7,322,216, compared to 7,133,005 the same period in 2015, an increase of 2.7 percent. The load factor in May 2016 was 82.1 percent compared to 79.1 percent during May 2015.

Hawaiian has led all US carriers in on-time performance for each of the past 12 years (2004-2015) as reported by the US Department of Transportation.

Now in its 87th year of continuous service, Hawaiian offers non-stop service to Hawaii from 11 gateway cities, along with service from Japan, South Korea, China, Australia, New Zealand, American Samoa and Tahiti. Hawaiian also provides approximately 160 jet flights daily between the Hawaiian Islands, with a total of more than 200 daily flights system-wide.
