Hainan Airlines ranks third in JACDEC airline safety report

Hainan Airlines came in 3rd in the latest airline safety ranking report by German airline safety data evaluation firm JACDEC, the company said.

The third place ranking is a rise from its fifth place ranking in 2015.

The JACDEC ranking report, released on January 4, 2017, surveyed more than 60 of the world´s leading airlines with a summarized safety review for 2016.

Three of the world´s top ten safest airlines are Chinese carriers, with Cathay Pacific Airways coming in number one, Hainan Airlines, ranking third, and EVA Air in sixth place.

This is the fifth consecutive year that Hainan Airlines has been on the Top 10 list. The move from fifth place in 2015 to third place in the latest list, represents the best-ever ranking for a mainland China-based airline.

The airline also was honored with the Five-Star Flight Safety Award by China´s aviation watchdog, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

Hainan Airlines is a mainland China-based airline. It has logged over 5 million hours of safe flights as of December 2015.
