Gary International Airport prepares for upcoming snow season

The Gary/Chicago International Airport (GYY) has announced that its snow and ice removal teams are prepared for the upcoming snow season, the company said.

The airport´s snow and ice operations crews remain ready for the coming of winter following an early workout at multiple points this fall given several earlier-than-anticipated snowfalls since Halloween.

Gary International Airport is located 25 miles east of Chicago and falls within the snow belt region, so it is accustomed to early snowfalls and the crews continuously train for these events. Most years, the airport will need to engage in some form of snow or ice abatement program from October through April.
