Florida Institute funds Social Evidence

The Florida Institute for the Commercialization of Public Research (the Institute) has finalized a funding agreement with Gainesville, Florida-based Social Evidence, LLC, the company said.

The Institute supports new company creation based on publicly funded research, and bridges early funding gaps for companies spinning out of Florida-based universities and research institutions.

Social Evidence is a cloud-based application developed to provide attorneys with an efficient method of gathering and evaluating social media as part of a litigation matter. The analysis tools will assist attorneys with organizing data using search tools and filtering, and as a result will be able to more easily pinpoint relevant information.

Formed by the Florida Legislature in 2007, the Florida Institute for the Commercialization of Public Research is a non-profit organization that works collaboratively with the technology licensing and commercialization offices of Florida´s state universities and private research institutions.
