Flipboard has announced that Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is the world´s busiest airport for the 21st year in a row, the company said.
More than 107 million passengers flew through Atlanta in 2018, according to the world traffic report released annually by the Airports Council International (ACI). Only one other international airport saw more than 100 million passengers pass through its gates last year–Beijing Capital International Airport, with 101 million travelers.
But airports with huge volumes of passengers are becoming increasingly common. Whereas there were only 16 airports handling more than 40 million passengers annually in 2008, there are now 54 airports with more than 40 million passengers passing through them each year, according to ACI.
