ExteNet Systems, the leading independent provider of distributed networks enabling outdoor and indoor wireless connectivity, has renewed agreement with the American Hockey League (AHL) as the official and exclusive arena wireless network infrastructure provider, the company said.
ExteNet has served as the AHL´s wireless network infrastructure provider since 2013, working with AHL teams and venues to create opportunities for building and operating distributed networks in AHL arenas that enable 3G, 4G LTE and Wi-Fi based wireless services.
ExteNet currently enables advanced mobile connectivity via its distributed networks, each designed to support multiple wireless carriers, at the Dunkin´ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island (home of the Providence Bruins), Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut (home of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers) and Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa (home of the Iowa Wild).
The AHL is broadcasting the 2016 AHL All-Star Classic, slated from January 31 to February 1, to over 110 million households. The games and festivities are also being streamed online via ahllive.com.
In November 2015, ExteNet announced the closing of its recapitalization transaction led by Digital Bridge and Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners. The arrangement will help ExteNet accelerate its growth and ensure continued leadership in distributed networks, which are utilized by wireless carriers to provide advanced wireless service for their customers.
