Etihad Airways named 2016 Airline of the Year by Penton

Penton´s Air Transport World magazine said that Etihad Airways is the winner of its 2016 Airline of the Year award.

ATW editors selected the Abu Dhabi-based national airline of the United Arab Emirates from a field of more than 100 global competitors.

The ATW Airline Industry Achievement Awards recognize excellence across a broad range of airline operations and are widely considered as the most coveted in the aviation industry.

ATW also noted Etihad Airways´ consistently diplomatic, dignified and assured response to the industry controversy on the Gulf carriers, demonstrating industry leadership beyond the company mandate.

Previous recent recipients of the ATW Airline of the Year award include Southwest Airlines (2015); Delta Air Lines (2014); ANA (2013); Air New Zealand (2012); and Emirates (2011).
