Echelon's InSight gets EdisonReport's LightTrades award

Internet of Things pioneer Echelon Corporation (NASDAQ: ELON) has announced that EdisonReport has recognized Echelon´s InSight Cognitive Vision System (CVS) as one of the 10 best lighting products of 2017, the company said.

Each year EdisonReports reviews hundreds of notable products launched at the light industry shows around the world.

The Echelon InSight CVS utilizes artificial intelligence in vision-enabled edge devices, optimized for Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications. With this patent-pending technology, data is collected and processed at the edge of the network instead of on a central server, minimizing demands on network bandwidth.

It uses the Lumewave by Echelon® lighting platform to transmit information, creating an architecture that enables faster decision-making in response to changing conditions. For example, the cognitive vision system can be deployed on intersection streetlights where it will analyze traffic flows and automatically adjust light levels accordingly, triggering higher levels during peak volumes and lower levels during non-peak periods.

EdisonReport is the site for news and information for the lighting industry in North America. With thousands of lighting products launched each year at the various major tradeshows, EdisonReport´s LightTrades Awards products are the best of the best. The judges chose products that were launched at the following 2017 trade shows: LIGHTFAIR, LEDucation, Strategies in Light, the IES Annual Conference, Hong Kong Lighting Fair and London´s LuxLive. EdisonReport´s 2017 Judges were Paul Pompeo of the Pompeo Group, Howard Wolfman of IEEE and Randy Reid, Editor of the EdisonReport.
