Eastar Jet takes delivery of 1st Boeing 737 MAX in Korea

Boeing [NYSE: BA] has announced it has delivered the first 737 MAX for Korea-based Eastar Jet, making Eastar the first airline in Korea to operate the fuel-efficient and longer-range version of the 737 jet, the company said.

Eastar Jet said the introduction of the 737 MAX into its fleet reflects the efforts it is making to modernize product offerings.

Eastar Jet will take delivery of another 737 MAX 8 airplane later this month, which will join the airline´s existing fleet of Next-Generation 737s.

Based at Gimpo/Incheon International Airport in Seoul, Korea, Eastar Jet is the largest LCC market in Northeast Asia.
