Dornheim Award honors best aviation, aerospace, defense writing

National Press Club has invited journalists who write about aviation, aerospace and defense to enter their best work in its annual journalism contest in competition for the Michael Dornheim Award.

This award is presented in celebration of the career of the late Michael A. Dornheim, a longtime reporter and editor at Aviation Week & Space Technology magazine. The recipient must be a working journalist writing about aerospace, defense, the airline industry, or aerospace science and engineering.

The winner gets a USD1,000 prize.

The Press Club, a national leader among journalism organizations, encourages those who write on these topics to enter the contest.

The deadline is April 1.

The contest includes awards for political reporting, regional reporting on Washington, international coverage, consumer reporting and online journalism. It also includes a group of awards for areas as diverse as reporting on the welfare of animals, coverage of the journalism industry, newsletter journalism, problems facing the elderly and humor writing.
