Delta Air Lines Foundation has donated USD1.0 million to support the efforts of charitable and nonprofit organizations in 13 states that offer educational and wellness programs and provide assistance to those in need, the company said.
The foundation´s grants benefit a diverse group of 180 organizations in Alaska, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina and South Dakota.
The foundation concentrated on organizations promoting diversity, education and health and wellness, as well as organizations supporting veterans and service members. Recipient organizations include local chapters of the American Red Cross, Community Foundations, Children´s Miracle Network Hospitals, Junior Achievement, United Way and the YMCA as well as community food banks.
The Delta Air Lines Foundation is a nonprofit corporation formed in 1968 to enhance Delta´s charitable giving. Delta Air Lines serves nearly 180 million customers each year. Delta and the Delta Connection carriers offer service to 319 destinations in 57 countries on six continents.
