Atlanta, Georgia-Based Delta Air Lines, with AeromÃ©xico, has closed a multi-year sponsorship with the FederaciÃ³n Mexicana de FÃºtbol, the national governing body for the sport of soccer in Mexico and the Mexican National Team (MNT), the airline said.
The sponsorship designates the two airlines as The Official Airline Partners of the Mexican National Team.
Delta and Aeromexico will serve not only as the team´s official airlines, but the global sponsorship will include an array of promotional assets around all games in Mexico, in Mexico hosted games in the US, and at World Cup qualifiers and international exhibitions played in both countries.
Soccer United Marketing, major league soccer´s commercial arm and partner of the MNT´s US tour for more than a decade, facilitated the agreement.
Delta Air Lines serves nearly 180 million customers each year. Delta and the Delta Connection carriers offer service to 323 destinations in 57 countries on six continents. It employs more than 80,000 employees worldwide and operates a mainline fleet of more than 800 aircraft.
AeromÃ©xico operates more than 600 daily flights on its fleet of more than 130 aircraft. Its main hub is at the Mexico City International Airport. Its destinations network features more than 80 cities on three continents.
