DE-CIX, an Internet exchange operator, says its newest Internet exchange in Madrid, Spain, has exceeded the company´s initial expectations for growth, leading to the opening of a second enabled site, the company said.
The company said it anticipated demand from international content networks, Internet service providers in Spain and Portugal, as well as from West African ISPs reaching Madrid via Lisbon.
DE-CIX Madrid started operations in May 2016 at the carrier-neutral Interxion data center in Madrid, which offers carriers and ISPs. DE-CIX has signed an agreement with Interoute Spain, whereby DE-CIX will open a second DE-CIX Madrid enabled site at Interoute´s data center in Madrid.
DE-CIX provides Internet exchange services and operates carrier and data center neutral exchanges that serve 800+ carriers, ISPs and content networks from 60+ countries.
