Daon, a global provider of biometric identity technology, has been named the 2018 Mobile Biometrics Platform Awards provider of the Functional category by Javelin Strategy & Research, the company said.
The awards are based on the 2018 Mobile Biometric Platform Scorecard Report, which recognizes providers for their breadth of features in supporting mobile biometric authentication and their flexibility in adapting to customer needs.
Daon announced in October a series of multi-factor biometric authentication deployments for its IdentityX platform including a multi-year digital onboarding agreement with Capitec (South Africa), facial recognition technology for Akbank (Turkey), a revolutionary three-minute digital leasing process for Innovation Finance (US) and a partnership for interactive voice response & contact center integration capabilities with Avtex (US). Daon also recently announced that it was selected by the New Zealand Department of Internal Affairs for its highly innovative digital onboarding app, RealMe Now.
Each of the providers was evaluated according to Javelin´s Functional, Innovative, Tailored (FIT) model. The Functional category showcases providers that deliver a wide number of use cases and cover a breadth of functionality within each biometric authentication platform including modalities offered, channels supported, and any supporting technologies and analytics built into the platforms. In addition to upfront authentication, Javelin also highlights platforms that provide additional risk assessment and supplemental authentication capabilities to provide robust platforms for securing user´s accounts, and that provide support around critical events like enrollment.
