CyrusOne (NASDAQ: CONE), a premier global data center REIT, has announced the purchase of land and a newly built powered shell for an enterprise data center in Sterling, Virginia, the company said.
With completion of the first phase scheduled for the first quarter of 2019, the facility is expected to eventually provide 33 megawatts of available power, bringing CyrusOne´s total power capacity in Northern Virginia to over 160 megawatts. The new development is the fourth separate campus in a market fast-growing CyrusOne first entered with the opening of its Sterling I Data Center in 2015. The company is known for developing major data centers in as little as six months.
