United Express regional carrier CommutAir has announced that, beginning October 4, it began operating five daily roundtrips from New York/Newark (EWR) and Washington D.C. (IAD) to Montreal´s Pierre-Elliot Trudeau International Airport (YUL), the company said.
Montreal is CommutAir´s first international destination since transitioning to an all-jet fleet.
Over the next few months, Commutair said it plans to increase its Canadian footprint by adding Quebec City (YQB) and Ottawa (YOW). CommutAir currently serves 35+ US destinations using the Embraer ERJ145.
CommutAir is majority-owned by Champlain Enterprises, Inc. and 40% owned by United Airlines, Inc. CommutAir operates ~1,000 weekly flights from bases in Newark, NJ, and Washington-Dulles.
