CommutAir, a regional United Express carrier, has announced the appointment of Richard Hoefling to the role of president and chief executive officer, the company said.
Hoefling currently serves as vice president — Newark for United Airlines and oversees the carrier´s operations at both Newark Liberty and LaGuardia airports, which average more than 450 daily flight departures, with combined staffing of more than 14,000 employees.
Prior to this, Rick led United´s Station Operations Center at Newark and was responsible for the hub´s strategic planning and business development.
CommutAir is majority-owned by Champlain Enterprises, Inc., and 40 percent owned by United Airlines. CommutAir operates approximately 1,000 weekly flights to over 40 destinations, using the Embraer ERJ145 aircraft, from bases in Newark, New Jersey, and Washington-Dulles.
