CommutAir announced has hired Jeffrey Penn as its (14 CFR 119.65) chief inspector and promoted Jobin Dhaliwal to director of crew resources, the company said.
Penn was previously the chief inspector and manager of quality at Jet Aircraft Maintenance, in Miami, FL, where he oversaw 50 plus airline customers, at a half dozen locations.
Dhaliwal joined CommutAir in November of 2014, as regional manager of airport operations, overseeing airport operations throughout the mid-Atlantic region, including hub operations at Washington Dulles.
The company said the appointments are in partial fulfillment of hiring and advancement opportunities at CommutAir, required as it adds 40 ERJ145 aircraft (over the next two years).
CommutAir, operating as United Express, was founded in 1989 and is majority owned by Champlain Enterprises Inc. CommutAir operates more than 900 weekly flights to more than 30 destinations, with Bombardier Q200/300 and Embraer ERJ145XR aircrafts, from bases in Newark, NJ and Dulles, DC.
