Comcast to invest USD100m in Chicago area network expansions

Comcast has begun investing nearly USD100 million in network expansion projects across its Greater Chicago region over the next three years, including a project that will add fiber optic and coaxial cable across a wide section of downtown Chicago, the company said.

The project is a concentrated fiber expansion that can bring the company´s network closer to thousands of businesses and residences, and give the company the ability to bring new customers online more quickly.

Over the last 20 years, Comcast has invested an average of USD300 million annually in its network in its Greater Chicago region and has built approximately 11,000 miles of fiber across the region.

Comcast Business, a unit of Comcast Cable, provides communication solutions to help organizations meet their business objectives. Comcast delivers business Internet, Ethernet, TV and voice services for communications management.
