Comcast installs fiber-to-the-unit project in Connecticut

Comcast said that Centerplan´s College & Crown project in New Haven is the first customer in Connecticut to leverage XFINITY Communities´ Advanced Communities Network to provide fiber to the unit.

The XFINITY Communities business unit is focused on providing XFINITY services to apartment/condo complexes, communities with single-family homes, healthcare facilities and student housing units.

College & Crown is located in an area where New Haven´s primary business district and retail corridor meets with Yale University. The property includes 160 apartments ranging from studios to two-bedroom units and also includes 20,000 square feet of retail space and structured parking.

XFINITY´s Advanced Communities Network is a fiber-based infrastructure that can be customized for select individual property owners, including the deployment of “move-in-ready” gigabit-capable solutions that will support gigabit speeds when DOCSIS 3.1 technology is available. All of XFINITY Communities solutions provide a path for owners to offer their residents the capability for gigabit speeds.

Comcast Cable is one of the nation´s largest video, high-speed Internet and phone provider to residential customers under the XFINITY brand and also provides these services to businesses.
