Coalition of US governors, mayors urge Congress to provide financial stability for US airlines

Airlines for America (A4) has announced bipartisan coalition of governors and mayors have issued a letter to US Treasury Secretary Mnuchin, House Speaker Pelosi, House Minority Leader McCarthy, Senate Majority Leader McConnell and Senate Minority Leader Schumer urging the Administration and Congress to provide financial stability for the US airline industry, the company said.

The rapid spread of COVID-19, coupled with government and business-imposed travel restrictions, has dramatically decreased demand for business and leisure travel alike, which officials explain “has taken and will continue to take an incredible toll on our state and local economies.”

Airlines for America (A4A) advocates on behalf of the leading US airlines, both passenger and cargo carriers. A4A works collaboratively with industry stakeholders, federal agencies, the Administration, Congress, labor and other groups to improve aviation for the traveling and shipping public.
