ClearOne awarded multipoint videoconferencing patent

ClearOne (NASDAQ: CLRO) has been awarded a new patent involving ClearOne´s videoconferencing technology by the US Patent and Trademark Office, the company said.

The patent describes a way to improve the performance of a multipoint control unit (MCU) and relates to using a video stream manipulator to scale or resize each video stream, encode the resulting video, and augment the encoded data with position information to allow video information to be positioned at a given location on a display as part of the decompression process.

This new patent is part of ClearOne´s growing patent portfolio that currently includes over 100 patents and pending patent applications covering multiple new technologies in the fields of audio and video processing, audio and video streaming, and communication technologies.
