Cathay Pacific has launched twice-weekly scheduled freighter service to Portland International Airport (PDX), marking the 18th cargo station in the Americas for the Hong Kong-based airline.
The new Portland service operates on a Hong Kong/Anchorage/Los Angeles/Portland/Anchorage/Hong Kong routing every Thursday and Saturday, using Cathay Pacific´s newest freighter, the Boeing 747-8F. The service meets growing demand to move commodities from the Pacific Northwest and the United States to various parts of Asia.
Cathay Pacific Airways flies daily to Hong Kong and beyond, including over 22 destinations in Mainland China, from six cities in the USA and two in Canada and offers cargo service to 18 cities in the Americas.
Port of Portland owns four marine terminals, three airports (Portland International, Hillsboro, and Troutdale) and five business parks. The port generated 27,000 jobs, USD1.8 billion in wages, salaries and consumption impacts, and nearly USD171 million in state and local taxes in 2015.
