Canada Jetlines appoints SmartLynx CEO to board of directors

Canada Jetlines Ltd. (JET: TSX-V) has announced it has named SmartyLynx Airlines (SIA) CEO Zygimantas Surintas to Jetlines´ board of directors, the company said.

Surintas has over eight years of executive experience with commercial businesses in North America and Europe combined. Since June 2016, he has held the position of CEO and Director of SmartLynx. As part of his leadership at SmartLynx, he oversees the company performance and strategy to maintain its status as Europe´s leading ACMI operator. Surintas joins the Board following the closing of the initial USD 7.5 million SmartLynx private placement.

Canada Jetlines Ltd. is set to become Canada´s first true Ultra-Low Cost Carrier (ULCC) airline, with plans to operate flights across Canada and provide non-stop service from Canada to the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.
