The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Friday announced that it is in close touch with the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) so it can keep UK air passengers informed of developments with the Airbus A380.
Aircraft manufacturer Airbus and EASA are said to be working together to continue the safe operations of the A380 aircraft and EASA is asking for precautionary inspections of wing ribs on some Airbus A380 aircraft.
Currently Airbus A380 aircraft flying into the UK are operated by Qantas, Singapore Airlines and Emirates. No UK airlines currently fly A380s.
EASA is the body responsible for safety oversight of the Airbus A380.
