US-based electrical wiring equipment provider Leviton has acquired UK-based cabling solutions developer Brand-Rex Ltd., the company said.
Brand-Rex will provide cabling to complement Leviton´s connectivity solutions in Europe, the Middle East, Mexico, Latin America and Asia. Over time, Leviton will use this new expanded geographic presence and logistics infrastructure to offer a wide range of Leviton products in these markets.
Leviton will continue its existing cable supplier partnerships to meet the needs and specifications of customers in the United States.
Brand-Rex will join the Leviton Network Solutions division and will continue to be managed by Martin Hanchard, reporting directly to Ross Goldman. Leviton and Brand-Rex will maintain their separate sales and distribution channels, as well as existing manufacturing operations.
Brand-Rex products will continue to use the Brand-Rex name following the acquisition.
Mark Gibson of leading British law firm, DWF LLP, led the team that advised Leviton on the deal, with support from colleagues Charles Jemmett, Jon Stevens and Sophie Doyle.
Headquartered in Scotland, UK, Brand-Rex is a global operation, designing, developing and manufacturing the most sophisticated, high performance copper and fibre cabling systems for communications and extreme environment applications.
Melville, New York-based Leviton is a privately held maker of electrical wiring equipment.
