Bombardier 415 aircraft will join forest firefighting fleet

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft said that it has delivered two Bombardier 415 amphibious aircraft to the government of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The order for the aircraft was announced in March 2014 and the first aircraft was delivered in May 2014. The second aircraft, which was unveiled today in St. John´s, Newfoundland, was delivered in September 2015.

The contract for the two aircraft is valued at approximately USD73.7 million.

Stéphane Villeneuve, Vice President, Specialized Aircraft, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft, said, “Considering Newfoundland and Labrador´s robust, lake-rich terrain and limited airport access to remote areas, the Bombardier 415 aircraft is the best choice for combatting the region´s forest fires and accessing hard-to-reach areas.”

Bombardier is a leading manufacturer of both planes and trains. Looking far ahead while delivering today, Bombardier is evolving mobility worldwide by answering the call for more efficient, sustainable and enjoyable transportation everywhere. It is headquartered in Montréal, Canada.
